Your Questions Answered

General Questions

Is there a cost to using the NSPA Exchange Member Site?

No. The cost is included in your membership dues.

What’s my user name and password?

You’ll use your NSPA member login. This is the same login you use to access other online NSPA member resources such as the YourMembership systemNSPA Online Community.

How does the data get into the system?

The NSPA receives records from several sources:

  • The general public. These come in via email or our online form.

  • NSPA members. Members supply information in several ways. Some by sending data in electronic form, others by answering queries from the NSPA Data Team.

  • Data clients and partners. Many scholarship program records have come to us from clients of the NSPA’s data services.

  • Donations. Some records are essentially donations from organizations who that maintain scholarship data and are willing to share.

  • NSPA team sourcing. The NSPA Data Team sources scholarship programs from public information, press releases, and so forth.

It sounds like you’re sourcing data from all over the place. Does anybody review the information?

Yes! We have a data team that reviews programs to ensure that the program is offered by a legitimate organization, that the program data is correct and consistent, and that the program meets our criteria for inclusion in the NSPA Exchange database.

In addition, the data team periodically reviews programs to ensure the information we have is still correct, that the program is still active, and so forth. Most program records are reviewed at least annually.

Can I … ? Questions

I work with a program provider. We’ve updated some information about our programs. Can I make a change to my program’s information?

Yes. We have an online system called the NSPA Member Data Center that allows you to update your program information online using a web form, or in bulk using a spreadsheet.

You will need to request access which may include getting confirmation from the NSPA’s main contact at your organization. See the Help & Info page to request access.

Troubleshooting

My NSPA member login doesn’t work. What’s wrong?

A few common issues:

  • Check to make sure that you’re using the right NSPA-issued login information. From time to time, the NSPA will offer a service or host a meeting that requires a fresh login. Make sure the login you’re using is your NSPA member login.

  • Your membership may have expired. Contact NSPA Member Services to confirm that your organization still has an active membership and that you’re individually listed as a user for the organization.

One straightforward way to test your login is to try to access the NSPA YourMembership system. If your credentials work for that system and not the NSPA Exchange Member Site, then something is, indeed, wrong with the system.

Where do I send a bug report, feature idea, or report an issue I can’t resolve myself?

The Help & Info page on this site can direct you to the right resource.
