Usage

In the NSPA Exchange, an interest is a subject regarding which one has an enjoyment, enthusiast, or spectator role. It may not be something an individual actively pursues or is directly involved in.

Contrast with the Activity List. For example, watching golf tournaments on cable TV would be an interest, while playing golf would be an activity. As another example, we occasionally see eligibility criteria formulated like “Applicants must show an interest in forensics,” with program details making clear that neither formal study nor a current career in forensic science is a requirement.

Due to the wide array of possible interests, this list is updated as specific programs are found.
