Overview
The purpose of the NSPA-SPE-AE code list is to define and standardize values we can use to refer unambiguously to affiliation entities in the context of scholarship eligibility and applications. Values are in U.S. English. However, the code list does not put any restrictions on how sending or receiving systems represent these values to an end-user. The values are simply those used to convey a precise meaning for data exchange.
This list contains an “Other” value.
Usage
In the Scholarship Exchange, an affiliation entity is an organization, group, or company with which individuals have direct and indirect relations. Some affiliation entities that are associated with scholarship programs include companies, professional organizations, and country clubs. Groups with employees, customers, and/or members can be considered affiliation entities.
References
Due to the wide array of possible affiliation entities, this list is updated as specific programs are found. The Exchange also captures the indirect and direct relationships that individuals may have with these entities. For example, it can account for a scholarship program offered to a dependent (indirect relationship) of an employee (direct relationship) of ABC Company (Affiliation Entity).
