Usage

In the NSPA Exchange, a situation is a life detail or characteristic associated with eligibility for a scholarship program. Situations are detailed regarding a prospective applicant’s education, employment, family, finances, or housing. By convention, the NSPA also uses “situation” to describe fine points around citizenship, residency, and associations not expressible in the more fixed, structured lists representing these data points.

At present, Situation criteria are notionally distinct from Miscellaneous criteria. But, in practice, the values “feel” similar to reviewers and data administrators. So, future versions of the NSPA Exchange standard may combine this list with the Miscellaneous list.
