References
The NPSA College Category List includes and shares the definition of every organization type in the U.S. Department of Education’s list of so-named Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs).
MSIs are defined based on either legislation (e.g., in the case of HBCUs, Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), etc.), or the percentage of minority undergraduate enrollment. The latter categories include institutions that enroll at least 25 percent of a specific minority group as designated MSIs for that group (e.g., in the case of Alaskan Native- or Native Hawaiian-Serving Institutions (ANNHIs), etc.).
