Data Center Upload
Upload Overview
Useful things to know about the Data Center upload and import:
Making updates using the upload is optional. You always have the option to make updates using the online web-based form. The upload is simply an optional convenience for those who have many records to update. Data Center Basics covers the options for making updates, and reasons for choosing each option.
The import must be in .CSV format, using the template provided. Do not delete or reorder and of the columns in the template.
The upload spreadsheet template is the same format as the export data template. This means you can export data from the Data Center, make updates to the spreadsheet, and upload the spreadsheet to the Data Center. All your changes will be applied and ready for review.

How To Upload Data
Step 1. Prepare Your Upload File
As noted above, the Data Center requires you to use an import template — which is simply a .CSV file with a header row containing specific field names.
You can get the template by:
Exporting data from the Data Center, which will create a file with any existing program information already in the upload template format.
Clicking Help & Info, which includes a link to a blank upload template.
A few helpful hints:
Reference the Import Template Guide when updating your scholarship data.
We highly recommend starting from an export file. Your current data will be pre-filled and will give you a sense of what data goes in each column.
Your program updates may be made in the .CSV file template. When you’re finished, save the file, and it’s ready for import. As long as it’s .CSV format, you can import a file using any name, with as few or as many records as you like.
You do not need to bother removing programs where no updates are being made. Simply update the fields of data you want to update.
The system looks for a few common logical errors in data. For example, if you enter an application close date that is prior to the application open date, that record will be flagged as an error and will not be imported. In those cases, you can simply edit the Excel data to fix the issue and run the upload again.
Step 2. Click Upload Data
An Upload Data button appears on the home page:
Simply click that button to start the upload process.
A help screen will describe the specifics, provide a link to a downloadable template, and so forth.
For convenience, there are also Upload Data buttons on other relevant pages in the Data Center.
Step 3. View the Results
The system will report on progress and display results.
Presuming the upload completes successfully, that’s all there is to it. You’ll be taken to a page where you can review your updates and additions.
The system will not import records if no changes are detected. In that case, the system will let you know what happened.
If the upload is not successful because of a system or data error, the system will provide a friendly message to tell you what went wrong.
